From the moment they're born, children are treated differently based on their gender and bombarded with messages from media, advertising and even family members telling them that boys have to be one way and girls are supposed to be another.

Children As They Are is a parent-designed network of parents and educators working to ensure that every child is able to safely explore all of their interests, talents, and feelings - whether or not they're considered "right" for boys or girls.

Children As They Are connects parents, educators and caregivers to information, experts and other professionals. We put tools and resources into the hands of parents and educators that help ensure our homes, classrooms and communities are safe for every child to express themselves authentically and develop well-rounded interests.
