Mission
|
The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC) works to end discrimination and violence caused by gender stereotypes by changing public attitudes, educating elected officials, and expanding human rights. We envision a world where every American — male, female,
of color, youth, gay, straight, or transgender — can contribute their talents and be judged
on their merits, regardless of whether they fit narrow gender stereotypes for masculinity or femininity.

Programs
PARENTING
Children As They Are, helps parents,
educators, and caregivers create environments where children can explore
all of their talents, interests and feelings -- whether or not they're
"right" for boys or girls.
GENDER & YOUTH
Our GenderYOUTH Network empowers student leaders to mobilize local chapters that combat gender-based school violence on campus and in local high schools through peer-to-peer outreach, grassroots organizing, and
community education.
WORKPLACE FAIRNESS
Our Workplace Fairness Program helps major corporations and Members of
Congress ban discrimination in their offices that are adding "gender
identity and expression" to their EEO policies. We offer support in
assessing and implementing such policies through customized on-site and
at-a-distance trainings.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
GenderPAC raises public and media awareness of gender issues, such as
hate crimes, pending legislation, policy developments and new research,
through regular press releases, grassroots gatherings, college speaking
engagements and a national conference on gender.
