Public Education At-a-Glance

GenderPAC works to change public attitudes and raise public awareness of discrimination and violence caused by gender stereotypes.

Specifically, GenderPAC's twice-weekly press releases and GenderTOUR of the country educate the public, media, and local communities. We respond to over one hundred media requests yearly for facts and information on gender issues. Our GenderYOUTH Leadership Summit brings together hundreds of youth - gay, straight, of-color, transgender - from across the country for three days of education, training, and mobilization. Our regular Action Alerts enable activists on-the-ground to have their voices heard on important developments in the news, while our annual GenderTOUR educates at dozens of colleges and conferences every Spring and Fall.

Recent Accomplishments

  • Completed research study at University of Illinois on the role of gender stereotypes in school-bullying.
  • Trained youth and educated professionals at more than 50 local events in 2005.
  • Collaborated with the Society for Human Resource Management to educate thousands of HR managers on gender identity and expression in the workplace.
